Role details

The Health Information Services Team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Information Access Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

  • This position is one of two (2) AO4 officers who coordinate the timely processing and release of clinical information to other Government Departments, Law Firms, Insurance Companies, Courts, Tribunals and members of the community in accordance with the relevant legislation.
  • The position is required to interpret relevant legislation and policies associated with release of information, liaise with and consult with members of the public and third parties.

About the Team

The Health Information Services consists of Medical Records, Switchboard, Clinical Coders, Information Access Unit, Health Information Managers, Medical Typists, Mail Room Clerk and Corporate Information Coordinator. The Health Information Service provides specialist services that embrace overall commitment to the management and provision of quality patient information to the MHHS.
