We are looking for a Principal Policy Officer to join the Policy and Assurance, Government Records team in this exciting and rewarding role.
The role will play a pivotal role in the Implementation of the new Public Records Act 2023.
In this role you will:
• Undertake complex policy and research activities to develop and implement strategies, policies and solutions to improve recordkeeping maturity, including recordkeeping in a digital ecosystem
• Develop, lead and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships with stakeholders to develop strategic policies and innovative solutions to whole-of-government (WoG) records and information management challenges
• Participate, coordinate and promote engagement and collaboration activities to build and maintain relationships with government agencies, industry organisations, vendors and other archival authorities
• Initiate, develop, maintain and review whole-of-government advice taking a plain English, practical approach to improve records and information management across government
• Prepare Cabinet submissions, discussion papers, reports and briefing notes covering current and emerging issues associated with records and information management including public records
• Review WoG policy and strategic documents
• Represent QSA on government forums and working groups, including delivering public presentations and contributing to a wide range of strategic information management projects as required
• Supervise and support officers in a team and/or project
• Provide advice and support to the Managers and Director
• Undertake any other duties as directed by the Managers or Director.
