• strategic advice on research directions, issues and projects;
• desktop research and literature reviews; and
• support for departmental staff in research and evaluation activities and findings.

About the Role

As Senior Research Officer, your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Undertaking high-quality desktop research about and literature reviews of key strategic topics relating to education, and summarising the findings into reports in very short timeframes;
• Evaluating research directions and issues, and developing policy initiatives and advice for senior officers of the department;
• Coordinating improved access to and dissemination of relevant research findings across the department; and
• Critically reviewing, analysing and providing advice to the Director, Research Services on research applications to undertake research in state schools and other departmental sites.
