As our highly valued Principal Trade and Investment Officer, you will contribute to ensuring a bright future for Queensland, Australia and our global partners. You will do this with people who want you to grow and progress.

Reporting to the Manager, Northern Region, you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain effective networks, consult, negotiate and liaise with key stakeholders to deliver export advisory services, and assist export ready businesses grow internationally.

Based in Gladstone or Rockhampton, here's what your role will involve:

• Provide high quality and practical export advice to businesses using your own experience and the networks available to you, to assist Queensland companies succeed in export markets.
• Research and analyse regional export (business and industry) opportunities, identifying niche markets across the world, and develop strategies and activities to deliver on regional and state-wide trade and investment priorities.
• Develop and foster effective relationships with key stakeholders in Queensland across the sector and industry, as well as local, state and federal agencies, to build commitment to long term growth. Leverage these relationships to co-develop and deliver industry and market development opportunities.
• Represent TIQ on inter-departmental, national and industry committees and present and participate in key government and business forums to identify investment and export opportunities.
• Liaise with TIQ's overseas and Queensland-based stakeholders to examine the supply and demand for various products and services in other countries and major regions to identify trade and investment opportunities within your region.
• Prepare policy papers, briefs and reports regarding investment and export opportunities, including potential issues and concern for Queensland exporters. Provide recommended solutions to proactively resolve arising matters.
