An exciting opportunity exists for a Nurse Unit Manager- Hospital in the Home (HITH) to fulfil a key leadership role that is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient centred care within a multi-disciplinary team that ensures service delivery of Key Performance Indicators that include operational metrics (bed occupancy, time to service delivery), Patient Outcomes, Patient Satisfaction, Service Efficiency, Clinical effectiveness, Quality and Safety measures and staff satisfaction and engagement. The Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) Hospital In the Home (HITH) initiative is a 36-bed multidisciplinary (MDT) hospital avoidance measure that provides acute care to admitted patients of the SCHHS in their permanent or temporary residence.

The Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) Hospital In the Home (HITH) initiative is a 36-bed multidisciplinary (MDT) hospital avoidance measure that provides acute care to admitted patients of the SCHHS in their permanent or temporary residence.
The HITH service manages all aspects of patient care including clinical governance, monitoring, and acute illness management that would otherwise require treatment in a physical hospital bed. The service is focused on substituting admitted patient care within the hospital setting to the 'home' setting'. The HITH MDT service is based at SCUH and provides care to the Sunshine Coast region, it operates 365 days a year.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Nominated as Medicine Store and S8 Safe Manager as per the Substance Management Plan for SCHHS Regulated Places, as required.
- Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, workplace health and safety and ethical behaviour.
Remuneration value up to $164 212 p.a., comprising salary between $132 562 - $142 924 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 7)(Permanent Full-Time, 76hrs p.f).
