About us:

The Capricorn Coast Hospital is based in Yeppoon, a coastal town in Central Queensland, Australia. Yeppoon is renowned for its beaches, tropical climate, and the islands out on the bay. Twenty-five minutes from the city of Rockhampton, Yeppoon is the principal town on the Capricorn Coast, a string of seaside communities stretching more than 150 kilometres from north to south, in which approximately 37,000 people live.

About the role:

  • The SMO assists the Clinical Director, Director Medical Services and Executive Director of Medical Services with the organisation, management and provision of clinical services to the Capricorn Coast Hospital and Health Service.
  • The SMO incumbent provides professional leadership to and assists in the professional development and support of medical staff including Registrars, Resident Medical Officers and Medical Students and other clinicians as required. The SMO will be an active contributor to the multidisciplinary patient care team.

About you:

  • MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Current ALS Certification. Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $458,662 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $182,106 - $187,801 p.a. (L13-L14)
  • A salary rate between $182,106 - $210,332 p.a. (L13-L18)
  • A salary rate between $210,332 - $251,527 p.a. (L18-L25)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
