The Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning is seeking four dynamic and experienced professionals to join Planning Group as Directors. In these pivotal roles, you will lead the coordination and delivery of planning functions and services across Queensland.

These roles offer the opportunity to lead talented teams, engage with key stakeholders, and make a lasting contribution to Queensland’s planning landscape.

The positions are based in Brisbane or flexible by negotiation.

This is your opportunity as a respected and experienced leader to make things possible for a better Queensland by thinking ahead and acting now. As a Director, you will be responsible for shaping policy, overseeing legislative frameworks, managing local planning schemes, and guiding regional planning efforts. You will also play a critical role in delivering essential infrastructure, ensuring best practices in planning and development and driving impactful planning outcomes for the communities and regions we serve. As one of several Directors across Planning Group, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of high preforming planning professionals.

You will:
• Lead an empowered, highly engaged and capable team through a commitment to Planning Groups shared purpose, vision and values to achieve high performance and outcomes.
• Understand organisational objectives and links between the business unit, organisation and the whole of government agenda. Consider the ramifications of a wide range of issues, anticipate priorities, and develop long-term plans for own work area.
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement to ensure the state's planning framework delivers desired outcomes and is transparent and accountable.
• Develop and maintain strong and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the relevance and quality of information provided and to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
• Contribute to the strategic objectives and priorities of Planning Group and provides strategic advice and regional intelligence to the division and senior executives of the department.
• Create a safe workplace environment that supports wellbeing and values diversity and inclusion and enables collaboration, continuous improvement and innovation.
