This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high performing team of referral coordinators who are responsible for the preparation and validation against relevant legislation of referrals of workers compensation claims from Insurers to the Medical Assessment Tribunal.

Working with the Medical Assessment Tribunal, Tribunal Coordinators prepare, validate against legislation, and support both virtual and in person tribunal hearings across numerous specialty types whilst working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve high quality outcomes. Tribunal Coordinators ensure that the information provided to the tribunal is comprehensive, has allowed for procedural fairness to the injured worker and Insurer and the Tribunals reasons for decision shows a clear and robust path of reasoning.

The positions available are temporary full time positions with the possibility of extension.

The Medical Assessment Tribunals consist of over 200 appointed medical specialists sitting regularly on tribunals and making medical decisions about workers' injuries within the Queensland workers' compensation scheme. A Tribunal Coordinator is responsible for the validation and management of an allocated caseload of referrals from Queensland workers' compensation insurers, overseeing the process from referral to final outcome. The role involves ensuring legislative requirements have been met, providing technical advice and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.

While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, it would be highly regarded if applicants have:

* practical experience in interpreting and applying workers' compensation or similar legislation;
* experience in customer service and complaints management;
* experience in managing caseloads in a process driven environment;
* high level of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and negotiate while maintaining effective working relationships;
* practical experience in word processing, data entry or electronic file management in a paperless office; and
* ability to prioritise, manage timeframes and multi-task to meet deadlines.
