Exciting Manager opportunity in the newly formed area of Victim Support. As a key member of the team, you will manage the Office of the Senior Executive Director including providing strategic and timely advice to the Senior Executive Director on range of administrative, secretariat, and project matters including sensitive and complex issues in the division. You will also be responsible for overseeing the coordination of Ministerial and departmental briefings and communications, inter and intra-government relations and corporate reporting.

NOTE: While this job is being advertised under Department of Justice - this position is transitioning under Machinery of Government to the Victim Support division under Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support.

Victim Support leads the development of the Queensland Government's victim support reforms and commitments, including to:

• Ensure that victims of crime from across Queensland are appropriately and proactively supported and provided with the upmost support and humanity.
• Design and deliver a professional victim advocacy service for victims of crime in Queensland, in consultation with key stakeholders and victims to ensure it is practical and makes a real difference.
• Explore place-based models of trauma recovery and healing.

Key responsibilities

As Manager, you will specifically:

• Lead the Office of Senior Executive Director to effectively support the Senior Executive Director, ensuring appropriate governance, frameworks, policies and protocols are in place and consistently applied.
• Oversee the coordination of all incoming departmental and Ministerial correspondences to determine issues, provide responses and advice for the Minister, Director-General and Deputy Director-Generals and Senior Executive Director.
• Manage critical tasks within the Office of the Senior Executive Director, interpreting needs, anticipating priorities and ensuring clear communication and information flow to meet the Division's needs and objectives.
• Establish and implement systems and processes to ensure reporting requirements and deadlines are clearly identified and met.
• Monitor and assess key issues, data and information relating to sensitive and complex issues to ensure the provision of accurate and timely advice to the Senior Executive Director.
• Coordinate and quality assure Ministerial and executive correspondences, and other briefing material for accuracy, relevance, appropriateness and alignment with the Department and Government's strategic objectives, policies and frameworks.
• Provide expert, evidence/ insights-based and trusted advice to the Senior Executive Director and other Executives on a range of strategic and operational matters to support and inform decisions.
• Develop and maintain relationships and engage with key stakeholders internally and externally, including ministerial staff and other government departments, and represent the department as needed.
