We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team in leading and conducting audits and complex investigations into breaches of legislation within the Building Safety and Standards Enforcement (BSSE) Team. In this role, you will be responsible for investigating matters related to Part 4A Combustible Cladding of the Building Regulation 2006 and Part 6AA Building Products of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991. This position is based in Brisbane and flexible arrangements can be considered upon application. This includes working from home options, and also working remotely at a Regional QBCC office subject to availability. If working from a regional office, travel to the Brisbane office base will be required frequency to be negotiated with successful candidate) to fulfil project service delivery and operational business needs and may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation.
Key Outcomes and Accountabilities
- Undertake compliance operations throughout the state including Audits and Investigations and decide on the appropriate action to take.
- Identify and implement proactive compliance initiatives including investigations, site audits, desktop audits and assessing, prioritising and investigating complaints.
- Interpret legislation, codes, standards, policies, guidelines and practices related to investigations and provide high level written and verbal advice as required.
- Support and assist the team leader in managing and leading the regulatory functions of the BSSE team, including prepare briefings for management and reporting on data and operational activities.

Candidate Attributes
- Demonstrated ability in conducting and managing complex investigations resulting in criminal and administrative outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly developed written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including compilation of comprehensive reports, along with mediation and negotiation skills with particular emphasis on managing the investigation process and related matters.
