The Heavy Vehicle Reform team coordinates Queensland participation in priority national heavy vehicle policy and regulatory frameworks that strike an appropriate balance between safety, productivity and sustainability.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Research, define and analyse complex policy and develop solutions that consider a variety of perspectives, including but not limited to the public and industry.
- Identify and pursue policy opportunities to reform regulatory frameworks improving road safety and balancing industry outcomes.
- Autonomously manage a program of strategic policy and legislative work, delivering initiatives in a timely and professional manner, including preparing well researched submissions, briefs and policy documents.
- Engage, communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across Queensland and nationally, including within the department, government, industry and community in relation to the achievement of strategic transport system priorities.
- Bring an enthusiastic and positive approach to work, with an ability to acquire subject matter expertise, be adaptive to change, learn new skills and work within ambiguity and risk.
- Effectively manage staff and collectively drive continuous improvement with the team.
