This role works within the Information and Digital Science Delivery Branch where their primary focus is on leading technical maintenance and support to various information systems used in the Science Division.

As the Science Systems Developer, you will:

  • Undertake scientific programming and DevOps tasks for the group and the broader Science Division.
  • Provide technical advice to scientist product executives on business analysis process to help derive product requirements and project scopes.
  • Practise agile software engineering and DevOps principles and provide timely feedback to stakeholders.
  • Work as a senior member of a team to promote best practice methodologies for science systems development. 
  • Participate in group projects, research projects and initiatives as a senior officer with the group.
  • Provide support to the maintenance and operation of high profile Science Division information systems.
  • Work efficiently in a team environment to effectively communicate with internal and external clients on business requirements and technical solutions.
  • Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.

This position reports to the Principal Project Officer, Information and Digital Science Delivery.

Ideally you will be in Dutton Park however, consideration will be given to an alternate location subject to availability at DETSI regional offices.
