The Darling Downs South West Region Charleville Cluster is looking for a knowledgeable, collaborative and enthusiastic curriculum leader to work with a cluster of small schools in implementing the Australian Curriculum with integrity.
You will work across the cluster as Head of Department (Curriculum) on a temporary full-
time basis, until the end of 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About the Cluster
The position will be based from Charleville School of Distance Education, and the schools supported by the position will be Augathella State School, Eromanga State School, Eulo State School, Morven State School and Thargomindah State School.
State and commonwealth funding have established a pilot to trial different approaches to using a Head of Department (Curriculum) to support a cluster of small schools. This pilot will run until the end of 2026.
The pilot supports different implementation approaches including virtual support for schools, travelling to schools at different times or a combination of the two. These will depend on the geographical features of the cluster, the needs of the cluster schools, and the flexibility of the successful applicant.
About the Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the curriculum across schools to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, and colleagues across schools and clusters.
