About the role

Permanent full time opportunity to deliver a high standard of care to patients within STARS Procedure Centre including Operating Theatres, Pre-operative, Post Anaesthetic Care Units (PACU) 1 and 2 and Endoscopy Suite through the delivery of high-quality cleaning, patient handling, porterage, waste, and support services.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Set up Operating Theatres with tables and equipment appropriate to meet the patient care requirements for each procedure.
  • Collect and deliver blood products, and specimens for blood bank and pathology departments when required.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new Theatre Support Officers or Patient Support Officers wanting to develop their skills and knowledge in Theatre procedures.
  • Operate a range of basic equipment for which training has been provided, and ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored appropriately and in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety and Infection Control Standards.
