Redland Emergency Department are looking for 2 x Mental Health Emergency Department Clinician - Clinical Nurse's to join their Mental Health team. This team provides support to the Emergency staff to ensure the mental health and wellbeing of the consumer is always a priority. The role in partnership with Redlands Emergency Department is to provide an efficient, high-quality assessment and care planning service for all referred consumers. The service is committed to the provision of services that are patient centred and recovery focussed.

About the Role

The Clinical Nurse (CN) role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning, and coordination skills in the clinical management of patients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the healthcare team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing, and delivering of recovery specialist nursing care. The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education, and research. The role supports in management activities including portfolio responsibilities.

  • The Clinical Nurse is responsible for delivering quality nursing care at an advanced level that requires a broad developing knowledge in professional issues for consumers who experience Acute Mental Health Concerns.
  • The Clinical Nurse promotes professional standards of practice and conduct and is responsible for achievement of unit goals and standards utilising contemporary evidence-based interventions.
  • The Clinical nurse is responsible for the physical health care monitoring and interventions for their allocated consumers and supports the multidisciplinary team in the monitoring of physical health care needs.
  • The position provides a contact and a source of professional advice for care providers and other relevant clinical stakeholders on mental health service delivery, comprehensive assessments, risk management and Mental Health Act 2016 legislation.
