• Provide authoritative advice and guidance to the program on corporate governance matters including finance and asset management to ensure activities are conducted in accordance with whole of government and departmental policies (including cost centre reviews).
• Contributing to NFAEP’s strategic and operational planning, human resource management and financial management.

As our Finance Manager you will:
• Lead and manage the Finance and Governance team to co-ordinate business and administrative functions including operational finance, budgets, forecasting, month end reporting and commentary, cashflow reporting, managing payments to small business, following up on over-due credit card reporting and cost centre reviews with respective directorates.
• Provide authoritative advice and guidance to the program on corporate governance matters including finance and asset management to ensure activities are conducted in accordance with whole of government and departmental policies (including cost centre reviews).
• Plan, negotiate, manage, and evaluate the provision of the program's finance and governance services in collaboration with the Director, Finance. Ensure internal controls assessments (ICAs) are completed on a quarterly basis. Establish policies and procedures to support the Program to be compliant with internal controls framework.
• Lead and manage the development and implementation of business-related policies, practices and technologies that represent best practice and continuous improvement to ensure cost effectiveness and efficiency while maintaining compliance with relevant statutory and departmental requirements.
• Develop collaborative relationships with other business units in Biosecurity Queensland, DPI and the Business Corporate Partnership and external stakeholders to deliver Finance governance services to the program.
• Manage sensitive and confidential issues and/or undertake research and project management activities as requested by the Director, Finance or the General Manager, Program Performance.
• Manage, and draft quality assure finance and governance related executive correspondence and briefing documents for Director, Finance and General Manager Program Performance for endorsement.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships, networks and partnerships across Government and other stakeholders to keep contemporary with emergent issues which may impact on the financial management and governance of the program.
• Managing internal and external Program audits. Ensure all audit deliverables and timelines are met efficiently and effectively. All audit recommendations are subsequently adopted and operationalised on a timely basis.
• Contributing to NFAEP's strategic and operational planning, human resource management and financial management.
You may also have
• While not mandatory, a tertiary qualification relevant to finance or business management from a recognised tertiary institution and CPA/CA status would be well regarded.
