The Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) is looking for a permanent part time Senior Human Resources (HR) Business Partner to join our high performing, dedicated and collaborative HR team.

The role is a 0.6 FTE with flexibility to work more hours if desired. Working days for this role will preferably be Wednesday to Friday.

The RTA provides tenancy information and support, bond management, dispute resolution, investigation and education services to the Queensland residential rental sector. This permanent part-time opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by aligning business objectives with best-practice HR strategies.

In this role, you'll be partnering with various stakeholders across the business to promote HR business partnering and best practices, managing complex employee relations issues and providing accurate, timely and professional advice relating to various legislation and HR policies and procedures.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Strong understanding of employment laws (public or private), Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and industry best practices
  • Ability to provide clear, professional and accurate written and verbal advice on HR matters
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively influence, collaborate and build relationships with managers, employees and senior leadership
  • Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor, coaching managers on employee relations, workforce planning and employee engagement
  • Experience in developing and implementing fit for purpose HR solutions, policies and programs that align with business needs
  • Demonstrated expertise in handling complex employee relations matters, including performance management, workplace complaints, independent medical examinations and rehabilitation cases
  • Experience in leading WHS initiatives, such as implementing health and wellbeing programs, maintaining WHS registers, coordinating WHS committees and ensuring compliance with WHS legislation
  • Proven track record in driving continuous improvement in HR practices, processes and team ways of working
  • Experience working collaboratively in a high performing team and successfully leading a small team.
