Your new opportunity

Join Queensland Treasury and help drive a strong economy for all Queenslanders. As a Senior Accountant, you'll prepare funding submissions, play a key role in departmental Budget Papers, and deliver budgetary briefs for estimate hearings. This is your chance to contribute to the state's economic recovery priorities and  longterm strategy.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide professional and specialist advice to both internal and external stakeholders on budgetary and financial management matters
  • Prepare funding submissions, department Budget Papers and budgetary briefs for estimate hearings
  • Prepare management reports and other ad hoc reports
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement in the quality of budget management and decision making
  • Develop and maintain strong and constructive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Work as part of the team in delivering financial services whist participating in a work environment which delivers a skilled, motivated and productive work team

What experience you will bring:

  • outstanding analytical skills and judgement with high-level integrity
  • ability to adapt to changing environment with a strong achievement orientation
  • good communication and negotiation skills
  • experience in management accounting
  • knowledge of accounting standards and relevant legislation and policies.

Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
