The purpose of the Principal Intelligence Analyst is to be responsible for leading and delivering strategic and operational services for an intelligence-led, targeted, and risk-based service delivery model, supporting a proportionate enforcement response to non-compliance, as an enabler for the Regulatory Compliance and Enforcement (RC&E) function of Transport and Main Roads (TMR).
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead and manage intelligence activities, preparing and disseminating valid, relevant, comprehensive, timely and defensible intelligence product relevant to risk and priority profiles. This would inform evidence-based decisions and policy development and assist RC&E achieve its strategic outcomes.
• Develop intelligence insights to assist RC&E in intelligence led, risk-based management, compliance and enforcement, and support policy and investigations work programs in planning and decision-making.
• Provide expert analysis, forecasting, reporting, briefs and advice on potential compliance issues, enforcement data and data-driven analysis trends to comply with the intent of relevant legislation.
• Coordinating and managing the analysis and development of operational and strategic intelligence assessments and advice on industry and/or community behaviours that will pre-position RC&E to respond to emerging issues and compliance trends.
• Develop high-level operational yet strategic intelligence and analytical reports. Undertake strategic assessments with related trends on the direction of
RC&E and recommended actions to support RC&E achieve its strategic objectives.
• Lead direct reports and team members to provide expert analysis, forecasting, and reporting on compliance issues and data trends, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation. Cultivate a strong team culture by promoting continuous improvement, fostering collaboration, and maintaining open communication.
• Lead, empower and mentor team members to contribute effectively and advance the department's intelligence capability through agile methodologies.
• Some intrastate travel may be required.
