Whites Hill State College is seeking a passionate, experienced and innovative teacher to join the French Australian Bilingual Program from term 2, 2025. The successful applicant would be required to demonstrate effective classroom management, deliver engaging curriculum to primary school-aged students and work collaboratively with the year level team and the French Bilingual team. The successful applicant would be able to provide differentiated teaching and learning opportunities to cater for all student needs.

Whites Hill State College is set on 26 hectares of picturesque green space only 10km from the Brisbane city centre and has students from Prep to Year 12. It has welcomed a French Bilingual stream on its primary campus in 2023 and extended that offer to High School with the opening of a bilingual Year 7 class in 2024.
The focus of the French Australian Bilingual Program is to provide excellent teaching and learning environments which allow children to achieve academic success and develop positive social and emotional skills while broadening their views of the world. Bilingual students in this program use the languages of English and French while also developing cultural understanding of Francophone communities.

Applicants for these positions must possess:

  • Have experience teaching French in a Primary School  
  • Be a French Native Speaker or C1 French proficiency for the French Bilingual program in a year 2/3 multi-age class
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues to maximise outcomes for students 
  • Concours de Recrutement des Professeurs des Écoles (CRPE) holders preferred but not essential. 
  • Experience with Australian and/or French Curriculum is preferred but not essential.

  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. Pre-service/graduate teachers must have been granted provisional registration prior to commencing employment as a teacher. For more information regarding registration requirements, please Click Here.
  • Employment for pre-service/graduate teachers will be subject to the successful completion of a relevant teaching qualification and meeting the minimum requirements as a teacher with the department.
  • Working rights in Australia, which means you have, or you are eligible to obtain a valid Australian Visa with work rights (if you're not already an Australian Citizen or resident).
