We are looking for an Advisor to join our team in the Human Resources Branch, Department of Health. In this role, you will support the development and implementation of Human Resource policies and related documents, including Health Employment Directives and HR delegations.

As the Advisor, HR Policy you will provide policy advice and interpretation to managers, HR professionals, and employees across Queensland Health, helping to ensure consistency and clarity in HR practices. 

What you'll do

  • Undertake research and analysis of current and emerging industrial relations issues and options to ensure accuracy and relevancy of information, and advice provided to clients on HR policy and related matters.
  • Contribute to the preparation, analysis and provision of timely advice including correspondence, business cases, briefings, reports and policy/discussion documents, through the interpretation of industrial instruments including HR policy, legislation, awards, agreements, and/or HR delegations.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of HR policies, HEDs, HR delegations, procedures, and guidelines for a broad range of occupational streams across Queensland Health, to ensure that the instruments meet legislative and industrial requirements, and organisational priorities.

About you

We are searching for someone with:

  • Experience in the development of employment related policy documentation within a complex service delivery environment.
  • Research, analytical and problem-solving skills to support the development of solutions to complex industrial relations policy issues and report on complex and/or sensitive matters.
  • Commitment to a client service ethos to provide responsive support and advice to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team in the achievement of agreed goals, along with the capacity to operate autonomously and with minimal supervision, and balance multiple tasks within tight timeframes.
