Position:
Clinical Nurse Consultant
Vacancy: Fixed Term Temporary Part-time commencing ASAP up to 30/06/2026, 45.6 hours per fortnight
Location: Cancer Centre, Townsville University Hospital

What's on offer?
Pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value of up to $164,696 p.a.

  • Salary range: $66.85 - $72.58 p.h. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (Nurse Grade 7).
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading and 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options and flexible working arrangements may be available.

About the role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) - Specialist Melanoma delivers expert nursing care, clinical advice and support to inpatients/outpatients, nurses, and other health care professionals with regards to high risk and advanced melanoma. This is an advanced practice nursing role that incorporates high level clinical service, clinical leadership, research, education, and clinical services planning and management to optimise patient outcomes.

The CNC - Specialist Melanoma will be expected to work predominantly within the treatment settings for advanced and high-risk melanoma. They will work closely with the Medical and Surgical Oncologists as a key part of the treatment team and will sub-specialise within the areas of surgical and medical oncology nursing.

Role requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years nursing, with 3 years of full-time equivalent experience in the field of Medical Oncology, Melanoma or Surgical Nursing.
