The Clinical Support Unit are a specialist team of clinicians who operate within Queensland Corrective Services. Our team administer assessments and provide evidence-informed clinical advice and support to improve the quality of case management for individuals who have sexually offended.

Information about the position, duties and responsibilities of the role is available in the attached job description. Applications will remain current for a period of up to 12 months. A suitability list will be created from this process to fill temporary contracts of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

As a Principal Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in the community correctional environment where you will:

• Administer sexual offending assessments with individuals who are higher risk and present with a range of diversity, complexity and responsivities;
• Build the capability of Community Corrections staff by providing training, mentoring and support regarding sexual offending;
• Enhance the team's clinical development by providing individual and group supervision support to developing practitioners;
• As a leader within the team, you will also be responsible for the line management and support of a small team of practitioners to ensure quality and timely service delivery to Community Corrections staff, while also building a positive workplace culture.

Who are we looking for?

• Highly experienced professionals with a relevant degree in psychology, social work, criminology, justice, health, behaviour or social sciences. Post-graduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical or forensic fields conducting validated assessments with individuals who are high risk and present with various complexities and responsivities including impairments, major mental illness and personality difficulties.
• Professionals with a high level knowledge in the assessment, treatment and management of individuals who have committed sexual offences or other behaviours of concern, and are deemed high risk.
• Demonstrated experience providing supervision to developing clinicians.
• Professionals who are innovative, solution-focused, and responsive to the needs of the field.

Referees should have a thorough knowledge of your capabilities, work performance and conduct within the previous two years, and it is preferable to include your current/immediate/past supervisor. By providing the names and contact details of your referee/s you consent for these people to be contacted by the selection panel. If you do not wish for a referee to be contacted, please indicate this on your resume and contact the selection panel to discuss.
