The Clinical Midwife Consultant – Healthier Pregnancies provides culturally safe and clinically effective preventive maternal and infant health clinical leadership and coordination to Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service (TCHHS) staff involved in antenatal care and postnatal care for residents across TCHHS.

The role is part of the implementation of the Supporting Healthier Pregnancies Initiative under the Putting Queensland Kids First Strategy. The purpose of the role is to improve the current and future health of pregnant women and their children through strengthening preventive health care and pathways to ongoing support.

You will work a Monday to Friday roster based in Cairns with travel into community a requirement of the role specifically to support the implementation and roll out of the initiative. TOIL may be accrued for travel outside of usual work hours and travel allowance payable as applicable. You will not be ordinarily required to work weekends or public holidays as standard Busines as Usual (BAU).
