The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Team Leader (Adult Mental Health - Clinical Programs) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Integrate and operationalise key objectives and strategies for a work based culture that promotes and supports education, learning, research and workforce development
  • Coordinate, formulate and direct policies relating to the provision of mental health care or disciplinary specific specialty services 
  • Maintain high level interpersonal and communication skills with members of the multidisciplinary team, consumers and visitors 
  • Lead and manage staff by fostering and committing to consumer safety and quality in the delivery of health care 

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work
  • AHPRA Registration (Occupation Therapy/Psychologist only)
  • Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Temporary full time (12 months, with the possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $144 991 - $151 289 per annum

About Us

The Team Leader Clinical Programs will be the operational lead for the following services:

Clozapine Service: Aimed at providing a sustainable and effective clinical pathway for all clozapine consumers in the Gold Coast Region. This will be actioned through a holistic service with direct access to a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team.

Adult Eating Disorder Program: This program aims to provide specialist multidisciplinary input to consumers with an eating disorder, assists treating teams to develop skills, knowledge, and competency in management of consumers and to build capacity and competency in delivering evidence-based interventions across all settings.

GP Liaison Officer: Single position that works to enhance and strengthen effective and sustainable partnerships with the GP community.

The Project AIR Strategy provides specialised and enhanced treatment options for people with personality disorders, their families and carers and supports the development of personality disorder-inclusive health services
