About the Role:
Park Ridge State High School is seeking an experienced and dedicated HR Manager to join our team, playing a key role in developing and implementing efficient HR strategies and processes to support the school's operations. This position is vital in ensuring the smooth delivery of HR services across the school, with a focus on providing timely and effective support.
You will assist the Business Manager in overseeing support staff, including administrative staff and teacher aides, while managing key HR functions such as leave, timesheet, and ADO systems. Additionally, you will coordinate recruitment and induction training for new support staff. Working closely with the Deputy Principal, you will also help manage staffing needs for teaching staff including leave and provide ongoing support and advice on employment conditions, contracts, pay, leave, and MyHR systems to both the Business Manager and Deputy Principal.
A key aspect of the role involves reviewing and refining local HR systems to ensure compliance with government and departmental policies, while recommending best practices that enhance staff wellbeing. You will also be responsible for triaging HR issues as they arise, providing timely resolutions and ensuring that operations run smoothly. Collaborating with the Business Manager, you will analyse HR practices, address operational challenges, and implement strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Building strong relationships with staff and the wider school community will be crucial in maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
The HR Manager will play a key role in meeting deadlines and ensuring consistent HR service delivery. This role requires you to do daily supervisions, generally starting at 6:30 AM, liaising with staff and relevant parties to address issues promptly. Responsibilities Include:
- Assist the Business Manager with overseeing support staff, including managing leave, timesheets, ADO, recruitment and induction.
- Leading and managing the operations of the Administration Team and other support staff teams, along with the Business Manager.
- Provide ongoing advice and support to staff on employment conditions, contracts, pay, leave, and MyHR systems.
- Review and improve local HR systems to ensure compliance with government and departmental policies, recommending best practices.
- Triaging and resolving HR-related issues as they arise, ensuring timely and effective solutions to support school operations.
