Work flexibly from either Brisbane or one of our regional centers; Cairns, Gold Coast, Mackay, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, Townsville, Sunshine Coast. *Based on office availability.
The successful candidate will also have the option to engage in a work from home arrangement that suits the Division under an approved Flexible Work Arrangement.
Key Outcomes and Accountabilities
- Support the Senior Pools Investigator, Principal Pools Investigator by providing advice and assistance in implementing pool safety policies, programs and projects.
- Provide advice in accordance with delegations to external customers on legislation, standards, policies, guidelines and practices related to pool safety.
- Manage a caseload that will include conducting investigations, assisting the Senior Investigator undertake pool safety audits, and assisting in the development of educational material, as required.
- Prepare technical reports and briefs of evidence for disciplinary proceedings with the assistance from the Principal Investigator and on occasions give evidence before the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal and other Courts.
- Assist with the development of technical advice as required on forums, groups, and committees.
- Advising on system improvements to ensure efficient administration of pool safety laws in response to organisational and regulatory changes.
- Provide administrative support to maintain the pool register.
- Providing a high level of customer service to all staff of the Commission and external customers.
Candidate Attributes
- Demonstrated ability to conduct and manage investigations.
- The ability to interpret and apply the pool safety standard to investigations, including providing expert advice to stakeholders in relation to the pool safety, with the assistance of the Senior Investigator.
- High level of written and verbal communication, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely and resolving minor disputes.
- Contribute to the team to achieve outcomes and effective work relationships.
