An exciting opportunity exists to join the Direct Sunshine Coast Rail Line project, within Transport and Main Roads (TMR) in the role of Executive Director (Governance and Controls).
The Direct Sunshine Coast Rail Line (DSC) project forms Stages 1 and 2 of The Wave – a generational infrastructure project that will revolutionise travel for the Sunshine Coast region, creating a seamless public transport network for the region.
The Wave will deliver heavy passenger rail from Beerwah to Birtinya (the DSC project), and metro style buses will provide links between Birtinya, Mountain Creek, Maroochydore CBD and the Sunshine Coast Airport.
The DSC project will transform travel in South East Queensland, providing a fast and reliable alternative to car trips between the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay and Brisbane regions.

The Opportunity
As the Executive Director, Governance and Controls, you'll be responsible for supporting the Project Director to build and develop the broader project team and establishing efficient and modern governance and project management systems for the Direct Sunshine Coast Rail Line project. In this role you will build and lead a project controls team and business services team, as well as develop and execute various plans and strategies which will guide the project team to achieve best-for- project outcomes, whilst implementing industry best practice project management tools.
As a member of the Project Leadership Team, you will be responsible for demonstrating and embodying the project values and delivering high-quality work within the project timeframes and budget.
You will model behaviours and attitudes aligned with DSC Project Values and TMR's values and contribute to a positive team culture, meeting of team and personal accountability expectations, and modelling the standards of professional behaviour.

• Demonstrated success in managing and leading a project governance and controls team in a complex and diverse project environment.
• Well-developed ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills including the ability to develop innovative strategies and solutions.
• Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and negotiate in difficult circumstances.
• Demonstrated skills in promoting an inclusive workplace where health, safety and wellbeing are prioritised.
• Create a high performing governance and controls team by nurturing a positive and high-performance work culture reflecting the values of collaboration, respect, high-performance and efficiency and ensuring an environment of inclusion and psychosocial safety which fosters continued learning and sharing across the project
