About us:

The Medical Unit Level 1 unit is a dynamic workplace which treats Central Queensland frail and aged adults. The unit currently operates as an Interim Care Unit, caring for patients awaiting residential aged care. The ward consists of 24 beds, made up of 10 single rooms, 2 negative pressure rooms and 6 double rooms. Patients receive care within a multidisciplinary approach including diabetes nursing, speech pathology, dietetics, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, and general physicians.

About the role:

The Nurse Unit Manager is required to lead and deliver person centred Nursing and Midwifery care within a dynamic health environment at an advanced level based on the Interim Model of Care and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia – Registered Nurse Standards of Practice. This role has responsibility for Nursing leadership within the Medical Unit Level 1, in context of the Complex and Chronic Care division, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care workers to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.

About you:

Registration as a Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current practicing certificate are mandatory for this position.

  • A relevant postgraduate qualification is desirable for this position.
  • Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $13,684 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
