About the role

As the Lawyer (Property and Leasing), you will have several years of post qualification experience to assist with all types of commercial and property transactions, particularly, commercial and specialty leasing. In this role, you will cover government legal work that has a focus on commercial or property including commercial legal matters and disputes.

The clientele primarily consists of government departments and agencies. The Lawyer (Property and Leasing) will also provide assistance in marketing the property and leasing services of the Queensland Public Trustee to government clients. In this position, you will bill 5 chargeable hours per day, enjoy a 36 ¼ hour work week, have access to training and excellent legal resources as well as mentoring and development from a cadre of experienced lawyers.

About you

You are a lawyer who can produce work quickly, is technically sound and wishes to have exposure to leasing, property and commercial work without working extraordinary hours.

The following attributes are essential to your success in this role:

  • Demonstrated experience in property law, ideally in leasing
  • Proven experience in a law firm operating within a team of lawyers attending to reasonably higher volume property transactions with direct client contact
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills
  • Proven ability to generate work as a primary producer (knowledge of Microsoft Office for example)
  • Possess a strong sense of professionalism and ethics, with a can-do attitude.
