We have a great opportunity for you to further develop your experience and skill set as a Scientist within our hard-working laboratory in Dalby. Perform complex and diverse technical tasks and engage in independent decision making and judgement on a day to day basis with minimal clinical practice supervision in the analysis of patient specimens. The primary responsibility of the position is to assist in the provision, maintenance and improvement of a comprehensive pathology service to the Dalby Hospital in a multidisciplinary laboratory.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- A competent level of knowledge, expertise and skills within a multi-skilled laboratory.
- Ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team on a 5 day roster with on-call duties outside of rostered hours, and contribute a range of diagnostic skills relevant to the disciplines.
- Ability to apply established principles to the provision of results and advice in a client focussed manner.
- Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision.
- Ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent qualification.
- Queensland Health staff will be required to participate in shift, on-call and/or weekend roster arrangements. In some circumstances and following consultation Queensland Health staff may be required to participate in 24 hour shift arrangements.
- Please detail any visa conditions you may have if you are not a permanent resident of Australia.
