As a Principal Financial Accountant you will:
• Provide expert direction to the management and operation of the Department's financial ledgers, maintain and manage the production of accurate and timely financial information.
• Apply expert knowledge to the preparation of the Department's annual financial statements, including the planning of associated activities and communication with relevant parties.
• Provide expert advice on financial accounting issues, policies, guidelines, methodologies and systems.
• Apply practical experiences to develop work schedules and project plans to ensure key outcomes are delivered on time.
• Lead the collection, analysis and reporting of financial information and statistics to support various financial reporting activities.
• Adapt to changes including Machinery-of-Government and offer solutions that facilitate a smooth transition in achieving departmental objectives.
• Provide expert guidance and training to staff where required.
• Participate in the continuous improvement review of work practices, systems and processes to enhance business outcomes.
