About the role
This role is a great opportunity to work independently - or with support depending on the experience of the successful candidate - to deliver high quality oral health services in an integrated model of care to eligible adult and paediatric clients at dental clinics located within the West Moreton Hospital and Health Service catchment.
About you
Your success in this role will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘About this role', the ideal person for this role will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Technical Capability
• Experience in the provision of all aspects of oral health care to the level expected of a registered General Dentist. Includes comprehensive knowledge of Infection Prevention practices to enable safe service provision to eligible clients. Ability to work efficiently in the emergency clinic to provide high quality treatment in a timely manner.
Patient/Client Focus
• Experience in the provision of high-quality oral health care on a personal and population basis. Ability to understand and respond to patient needs. Ability to manage client complaints and expectations. Ability to quickly make a professional connection with patients while providing care.
Problem Solving
• Ability to innovatively analyse, identify and resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
• High level written and oral communication skills to enable effective interaction with individuals and groups. Well-developed negotiation skills
• Well-developed ability to develop and maintain appropriate relationships with team members, clients, and internal and external stakeholders.
Teamwork
• Ability to effectively lead a small clinical team and work as a team member to achieve organisational goals.
• Ability to effectively use or quickly acquire the ability to use applications such as Word, Excel and Power Point, Novell, Outlook, ISOH (Information System for Oral Health Database) and digital radiography systems.
Organisational Commitment and Awareness
• Knowledge of, ability and motivation to adhere to organisational policies, values, and goals. Motivated to work consistently with Queensland Health values.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
