We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Project Officer who is able to use exceptional communication, analytical and relationship management skills to work collaboratively within a fast-paced team. You will provide specialist advice and guidance on the application of appropriate governance and risk and issue management practices across multiple large ICT programs and projects within eHealth Queensland. Essential to this role will be your commitment to building strong relationships with stakeholders responsible for the delivery and implementation of digital/ICT projects and programs.

The role:
The ideal candidate will have high attention to detail and be driven by a desire to improve healthcare outcomes.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Manage and oversee the development and implementation of project governance and risk and issue management frameworks.
- Build and maintain organisational capability and maturity in the areas of governance as well as branch, operational and delivery risk/issue management including associated reporting.
- Work with program and project board members to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of program and project board governance within the context of the broader eHealth Queensland environment.
- Provide specialist governance as well as branch, operational and delivery risk/issue advice including recommendations for improvement ensuring alignment with established frameworks.
- Establish and provide integrated portfolio, program and project governance and risk/issue management support services to delivery areas across Delivery Services Branch.
Are you right for this role?
This role requires significant experience in the provision of support to large scale, complex IM/ICT programs and projects, specifically in the themes of governance, risk and issue management and reporting.
Your well-developed analytical skills, negotiation and communication skills and an eye for detail, will enable you to effectively negotiate and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders regarding the application of the project delivery framework, governance framework, risk management framework and supporting tools and templates.
You will have high level knowledge and application of appropriate project and program management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2 and MSP), and an ability to provide expert advice to senior managers and staff.
Knowledge
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Advanced stakeholder management experience
- Experience in a similar role providing services to a large and complex delivery portfolio.
- Experience working within either the Government or Health sectors.
- Knowledge of program and project management governance structures and roles.
- Knowledge of sound risk management processes and practices.
- Qualifications and professional certifications in one or more of the following fields will be highly desirable:
- P3 management, e.g. Prince2®, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)®, Portfolio/Programme/Project Office (P3O) ®
