About the role
Deliver advanced, specialist level clinical / health psychology service to identified patient groups within Redcliffe Hospital. The psychology department provides a range of inpatient (i.e., complex inpatient behaviour management, mood assessment and brief intervention) and outpatient services including Oncology/Palliative Care, Orthopaedic Screening Clinic (OPSC), Gastroenterology, & Paediatrics. Practice area would be based on clinical needs within the hospital with due regard to area of skill. Complex clinical, teaching and research roles delivered by this position within a high degree of autonomy and in alignment with the collective vision, standards and expectations of the Metro North Hospital Psychology Service. Demonstrate leadership at facility level and manage the operational aspects of the small but growing clinical psychology service with the Redcliffe Hospital.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Independently apply advanced knowledge of evidence-based clinical/ health psychology principles and professional judgment across multiple specialities to problems of significant scope within a complex and heavy caseload comprising patients with diverse medical presentations.
- Communicate effectively at advanced practice level within multi-disciplinary teams to achieve optimal health care outcomes for patients and with senior psychologists across the HHS to develop the model of psychology service delivery.
- Lead the delivery of the Redcliffe Hospital Psychology Service including responsibility for the performance of work unit staff, including regular supervision and performance appraisal.
