Your contribution
To provide quality corporate and business support to senior managers and support staff with respect to the human resource management, information management and technology, asset management, financial management, purchasing and general administration.
Key duties and responsibilities
The Business Officer's key responsibilities are:
- Provide timely, high-quality advice, support, and training on financial, human resource, establishment, asset management and other business systems.
- Support the management of the human, physical and financial resources of the service area including assistance with the preparation of budget forecasts and expenditure reconciliations, and the management of accommodation and assets.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective financial and administrative systems, including the development and maintenance of records management systems.
- Provide advice to staff of all levels on financial, administrative, and operational issues as well as in relation to preparation of highly sensitive and confidential briefs, memos, submissions, and ministerial and executive correspondence.
- Supervise administrative staff and monitor the workflow and workload management of an administrative team and participate in staff training, appraisal, and development, where appropriate.
- Analyse and prepare reports, general correspondence, briefing notes, memorandum for approvals and human resource papers on diverse issues to Departmental standards.
- Assist in the delivery and coordination of other business management functions and projects as required.
- Develop and maintain networks with other areas of the department to ensure effective integration, coordination and liaison occur.
