As our Area Coordinator you will:
• Provide high level advice about the operational implications of policy and legislative changes and suggest possible improvements.
• Support manager with delivery of assigned operational outcomes and targets and contribute to the periodic review of operational procedures and processes.
• Supervise staff, through setting work priorities and allocation of resources to support delivery of required outputs in realistic timeframes. Train staff in the standard operating procedures and policies required for their role, take appropriate steps to ensure standard operating procedures are followed and up to date.

About the role
As our Area Coordinator you will:
• Provide high level advice about the operational implications of policy and legislative changes and suggest possible improvements.
• Support manager with delivery of assigned operational outcomes and targets and contribute to the periodic review of operational procedures and processes.
• Supervise staff, through setting work priorities and allocation of resources to support delivery of required outputs in realistic timeframes. Train staff in the standard operating procedures and policies required for their role, take appropriate steps to ensure standard operating procedures are followed and up to date.
• Allocate work assignments to staff, track progress, write progress reports and trouble-shoot issues that arise on a daily basis. Ensure staff have access to required procedures and resources and manage those resources effectively.
• Support management with managing operational costs in a strategic and sustainable way
• Provide recommendations to management for consideration, especially suggestions directed at improving business outcomes.
• Liaise and coordinate within and across work units, represent the operational area and inform the work of other staff.
• Under limited direction in relation to priorities and work practices, provide oversight/management to a discrete organisational unit and/or provide administrative support to the operational program.
• Prepare documentation and reports to brief management ensuring information provided is high quality and can be used by management to inform complex correspondence and decision-making
• Liaise, communicate and negotiate with clients or other interested parties, within parameters decided by senior management.
• Investigate, analyse, interpret or evaluate information for the guidance of staff or clients, or undertake research in relation to technical matters.
• Contribute to the operational management team across the Program to facilitate the achievement of Program goals and targets.
You may also have -
· While not mandatory, a relevant qualification from a recognised tertiary institution, would be well regarded.

Licences and registrations
• The position requires the incumbent to operate a Class C motor vehicle, and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of
this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
Key competencies
All employees are expected to role model leadership behaviours. This role requires the leadership competencies of a team leader.
