The Risk and Assurance team develops and implements the Customer Services Branch assurance framework whilst driving the Branch's risk maturity. The team provide oversight of internal risk management and control systems, compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements and the integrity of the CSB financial statements.

In the role of Risk and Assurance Officer you will participate in financial, compliance, operational and performance assurance across all CSB activities. You will influence change and improve the management of risks and controls through the delivery of CSB Risk and Assurance Program.
What you will do:
In your role, you will:
• Actively participate in conducting audits and reviews of systems and procedures, and the effectiveness of operational controls, providing recommendations for improvement within CSB.
• Planning the implementation of audits and reviews, including, scheduling and coordination with relevant Managers to ensure availability of resources and contribute to the identification, assessment, and treatment of risks by collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation. This includes the provision of data-driven assurance, guidance and support on risk and control matters, leveraging tools to sample, analyse, and test for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
• Develop comprehensive, professional audit and risk reports utilising data analysis and data interpretation, including recommendations and opportunities for review and action by stakeholders.
• Support the Manager (Risk and Assurance) to respond to disruptive event management activities and coordinate the development and management of Process of Continuity of Business and exercising for all Customer Services Branch business areas.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships through working collaboratively with key stakeholders within the Branch and wider Department.

An individual with:
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role coordinating risk, assurance, and audit functions in support of delivering optimal business outcomes and continuity.
• Possession of strong analytical skills and the ability to identify, assess, manage, and report on risks effectively in accordance with the CSB Risk and Assurance Program.
• Demonstrated capability in the identification of issues, and proficiency in analysing and interpreting data to provide effective solutions and make sound informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• The ability to effectively liaise with a range of user groups and business units, a can-do attitude, and the aptitude to be able to work effectively to meet set deadlines.
