Townsville Oral Health Services are seeking an experienced and outcome driven Manager for a temporary full-time role, commencing 05/05/2025 - 02/11/2025. Please note - there is a possibility of an extension of an additional 12 months.

In this role, you will be accountable for leading the delivery of a safe and sustainable high-quality, multidisciplinary public dental service across 31 community, hospital, prison/detention centres, mobile and fixed school clinic sites.

The Townsville Oral Health Service provides dental services in locations across the full breadth of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service catchment’s facilities, from Richmond in the West to Palm Island and from Home Hill in the South to the Cardwell in the North.

About the opportunity:

Position: Manager, Oral Health Services (Townsville Hospital and Health Service)

Vacancy: Fixed Term Temporary full-time from 05/05/2025 up to 02/11/2025 (with a possibility of an additional 12 month extension).

Location: Oral Health Services, Kirwan Health Campus

The role

  • Influence and lead the Oral Health Service team to review and reform programs and health services and deliver change and innovation that responds to local, state and national health agendas and the identified needs of the Townsville HHS population.
  • Lead clinical governance and ensure quality and safety are maintained for the Oral Health Service to maintain accreditation to the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
  • Cultivate and maintain professional working partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders, including the Department of Health, healthcare partners, and universities, to ensure identified outcomes and key performance indicators are realised.
  • Active stakeholder participation at the THHS at Directors of Oral Health Advisory Committee meetings and forums to which informs policy change and the strategic direction of public oral health services in Queensland.
  • Accountable for the Service's achievement of financial and revenue targets through active and strategic budget planning and monitoring methodologies.  This includes the strategic planning and operational management of Oral Health's assets and equipment, as well as managing the procurement of external provides including, general dentistry, dental prosthetics and specialist orthodontists.
  • Monitor quality of practice through clinical indicators, risk and safety reporting, quality of care reporting and respond to variances in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Whilst not mandatory a strong background and/or qualifications in health, business or clinical management are highly desirable.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required to travel to sites across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
