About your opportunity:
The Babinda Multi-Purpose Health Service is part of the Rural and Remote Service for Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. Babinda and provides high quality Allied Health Services including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work and Podiatrist. This position is located within the Babinda Hospital and provides services to Acute inpatients, Aged Care Residents and Outpatients.
About your role:
- Deliver high level rural generalist social work clinical services across a varied range of clinical areas including complex casework in acute, sub-acute and non-acute inpatient care.
- Apply high level professional judgement and decision making to manage a complex caseload, adapting routine and non-routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable clinical evidence with minimal direct clinical practice supervision.
- Provide a leadership role in the clinical assessment and intervention planning for service consumers from a Social Work and multidisciplinary team perspective, ensuring timely identification of client's needs, service provision, and discharge planning within the work unit or professional team.
- Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
