About us:

Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area.

About the role:

  • Work collaboratively with headspace services to support a seamless service experience for adolescents and young people (12-25 years) with mental health or drugs misuse needs referred to headspace services, consistent with providing the right service at the right time.
  • Maximise clinician availability and build essential relationships by being physically co-located with headspace, as much as is practical.
  • Through a consultation liaison and clinical in-reach model support the capacity of staff in a headspace service to assess and respond to adolescents and young people with more complex mental health or drug and alcohol presentations.
  • Facilitate streamlined/ supported referrals to Queensland Health MHAOD services for adolescents and young people aged 12-25 years, requiring a 'step up' in clinical care or from Queensland Health to headspace services for adolescents and young people aged 12-25 year, requiring a 'step down' in clinical care.

About you:

Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and / or registration with the appropriate registration authority, including any necessary endorsements, to be provided to the employing service prior to the commencement of duty.

Hold qualifications and registration with the appropriate registration authority to practice in any of the following:

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Social Work
  • Registered Nursing

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $82,105 p.a is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 -$72.58
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
