About the role
Providing the support and undertaking nursing/midwifery care for consumers under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse/registered midwife. Under supervision will support person and family centred, quality, safe patient care, whilst gaining increased knowledge and understanding the function of the organisation, healthcare teams and the profession of nursing/midwifery.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge of the specific health needs of rural
- Ability to demonstrate to follow direction and seek advice from the Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife, practicing within their scope of practice.
- Consistent delivery of a high level of service to patients, building rapport and showing empathy.
- Ability to use clinical information systems relevant to area of practice
- Ability to effectively prioritise and manage own time to meet and exceed customer expectations, with an enthusiastic, calm and flexible approach.
- A strong understanding of the relevant standards and processes and actively identifies areas for improvement, planning and acting to resolve issues with an awareness of community needs.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Enrolment within the second year of a Registered Nurse program with successful completion of the first year full-time equivalent undergraduate nursing course including all theoretical and clinical competencies. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- This role provides health, counselling and support services that involve children and will require a blue card.
