Your Opportunity

We are seeking dynamic and innovative Educators (teacher or tutor) in the "Skills for Education and Employment (SEE)" delivery team to achieve outstanding results as a part of our industry leading, renowned organisation! This is a wonderful opportunity to share your education knowledge and expertise, support our students' skills and development and make a real difference.

As a key member of the teaching and delivery team, you will contribute to developing and delivering quality learning services to a wide range of clients through:

  • Outcome focused vocational education and training (VET) programs;
  • Linking with industry, schools, universities, other TAFE and VET providers;
  • Maintaining currency with industry practices, workplace delivery and contemporary teaching methodologies and philosophies;
  • Working in an environment of change and continuous improvement; and
  • Making Great Happen!

TAFE Queensland regularly has vacancies (short and long term) for educators in various qualification delivery areas. This talent pool may be open for up to 6 months and is for opportunities as they become available.

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

a. An undergraduate degree of at least three (3) years duration awarded by an Australian university or tertiary institution, or its onshore or overseas equivalent

AND

  • At least 100 hours teaching English as a Second Language OR Adult Literacy/Numeracy in the last three (3) years; OR
  • A specialist Adult Literacy qualification; OR
  • A recognised specialist TESOL qualification.

b. Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials: 

TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;

TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools;

TAE50111 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training;

TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor;

TAE50211 - Diploma of Training Design and Development;

TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor;

Higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

c.  Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;

d. Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;

e. Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.

Highly Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working in remote and/or First Nations communities, with a demonstrated understanding of cultural protocols and community engagement approaches.
  • Cultural competence and sensitivity, including the ability to build trust and respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Ability to contextualise LLND content to suit the everyday realities, languages, and priorities of participants in remote settings.
  • Digital literacy and confidence with low-tech and no-tech delivery methods, including blended or mobile learning models adapted for low-connectivity areas.
