Yarrabah State School are seeking applications for a dedicated business manager to join their school community and take lead of effective and efficient administrative management of the school by providing corporate services and administrative support to the Principal.

This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.

About Yarrabah State School

Yarrabah State School caters for a First Nations student population enrolled from Kindy to Year 10 across three separate campuses within the community of Yarrabah in Far North Queensland. About the Role

As the Business Manager you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Contribute to the day to day management support staff within the school, including identifying corporate service issues, coordinating recruitment and selection, induction and training of support staff and where necessary, provide Injury management support for staff.
  • Interpreting departmental and school policies, guidelines and ensuring legislative and procedural requirements are met.
  • Assist the Principal /Business Manager in identifying workforce needs including maintaining accurate records, tracking staff data, monitoring staff replacement and ensuring all relevant compliance training is valid and current.
  • Assist with the daily supervision of support staff by monitoring workloads, identifying workforce skills needs, and highlighting any performance issues to the Principal/ Business Manager, including research of professional development opportunities for support staff.
  • Develop, monitor and track Blue Card processes and assist with timesheet recording and signatories for support staff and provide advice to staff of leave entitlements
  • Under the direction Principal/Business Manager, organise and manage supply and contract placements for both teaching and support staff.
  • Create WAAPs for all maintenance installation, refurbishment and construction work at school.

About You

Experience, Skills and Qualifications
The successful applicant will have:

  • A strong understanding of OneSchool, Agresso, BEMIR, Microsoft Office suite and MyHR.
  • Be able to multitask and prioritise within tight timeframes.
