Ophthalmology Eye Casualty and Outpatient Department are looking for a Orthoptist - Senior to join their team. The Princess Alexandra Hospital Ophthalmology clinic is one of the busiest eye clinics in Queensland. We provide a wide range of services for a range of eye conditions. These include cataract, glaucoma, medical retina, genetics, vitreoretinal surgery, anterior segment, strabismus, neuro-ophthalmology oculoplastics & orbit.

About the Role 

• Deliver high-level orthoptics consultancy services and facilitate access to appropriate clinical management based on Ophthalmology Clinical Prioritisation Criteria as part of the Ophthalmology Outpatients Service, independently applying clinical reasoning to a complex caseload of patients from the Ophthalmology Review waitlist.
• Collaborate on and undertake the development of evidence-based clinical practices, policies and protocols within the Orthoptic service.
• Assist in the identification, development, implementation and/or review of clinical practices, procedures and protocols in work areas using the principles of evidence based practice under the guidance of senior staff.
• Acts as a clinical reference point with the Orthoptist team and responds to every-day clinical demands.
