Senior Case Manager

In this role you will have the opportunity to be an integral part of the court-based program Court Link, based in Mount Isa. Court Link is an integrated court assessment, referral, and support program. Court Link assists participants by connecting them with treatment and support services to address housing, employment, drug and alcohol, health, and other social needs.
As a Court Link Senior Case Manager, you will be responsible for the assessment and case management of participants with complex needs on the program including the provision of interventions to address issues related to offending behaviour.

Your key responsibilities
- Provide information and advice to court users and stakeholders about all programs and supports available through Courts Innovation Program.
- Manage a case load of participants with complex and multiple needs in line with program and organisational standards with oversight from the Team Leader.
- Assess the risk and needs of participants and develop case management plans, including intervention strategies to ensure participants engage with appropriate support and treatment services with oversight from the Team Leader.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including government and non-government organisations to initiate, negotiate and facilitate linkages and access for participants to a range of appropriate services in line with program requirements.
- Apply sound practice, judgment and decision making to manage a caseload, ensuring that participant activities are consistent with evidence-based practice, with oversight from the Team Leader.
- Provide verbal and written advice, including the preparation of accurate progress and final reports in a timely manner to the court to assist with bail and sentencing decisions.
- Provide court advisory services to inform the court of participant involvement, progress, and outcomes on the program.
- Liaise, consult, and negotiate with the judiciary, legal profession, and court staff in relation to the management of participants within the program and provide advice regarding the availability of appropriate services and programs.
- Recommend decisions about the appropriateness of brokerage funding expenditure and appropriate use of resources for participants.
- Maintain accurate records in a computerised database to support program delivery and effective monitoring.
- Support, contribute and cultivate cultural capability within the operations of programs established under Courts Innovation Program to assist vulnerable people coming into contact with the justice system.
