About Chiders State School

Childers State School is part of Education Queensland and serves the rural Isis community and the township of Childers. Childers is located almost halfway between Maryborough and Bundaberg on the Bruce Highway. The school was established in 1888, although it was moved to the new buildings at its current site in 1987.
Enrolments vary around the level of 320 children. In 2017 there are 13 classes from prep to year six. We enjoy the expertise of music, physical education, digital technology and German teachers. A Special Education Unit operates from the school.
Childers State School provides:

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:-

  • Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Active participants in life long learning and ongoing professional development.
