A permanent opportunity is available to join the Community Operations Directorate as an Advisor located in Brisbane. The Community Operations team provides strategic oversight, governance and support to regions in the delivery of community corrections in Queensland.
The group is responsible for developing and monitoring performance standards for the delivery of community corrections across Queensland through key functional areas of operational practice and governance compliance and risk.

This position provides advice to the Community Operations Directorate including the co-ordination and preparation of regular reports and information for relevant stakeholders.
In this role you will:
- Develop and maintain processes for collation, endorsement and publishing of information on the intranet and internet
- Manage and respond professionally and in a timely manner to enquiries regarding interstate travel and transfer requests and notifications between Queensland and interstate jurisdictions
- Check and coordinate in a timely manner offender transfers and travel permit requests and maintain a register of all offender transfers and travel permits in and out of Queensland
- Coordinate and provide recommendations in relation to offender transfers to the delegated officer. Disseminate incoming correspondence relating to offender transfers and travel
- Maintain offender incident statistics and report on relevant trends to the Deputy Commissioner, Community Corrections and Specialist Operations
- Monitor the quality of offender management and operational activities, identify relevant trends and issues and develop strategies to improve the quality and consistency of offender management activities.
- Develop and implement operational procedures for the transfer and travel of offenders into and out of Queensland.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, publications and correspondence for the Directorate
- Establish administrative procedures for the processing of information between the Directorate and district offices and relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the security of offender and personal information and appropriate access to the files by relevant staff and approved stakeholders
- Regularly liaise with and request information from external stakeholders such as interstate corrections agencies
- Provide advice to staff and members of the public on relevant legislation, transfer and incident associated practices and procedures.
- Attend meetings with internal stakeholders including the Office of the Commissioner, and custodial partners providing timely and accurate advice regarding offender incident reporting
- Assist in the development and provision of training and education of employees within the agency on practices and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Agency procedures, policies, relevant legislation and other key documents
