The Director, Policy and Strategy of the First Nations Justice Office (FNJO) will be responsible for leading the policy and strategy team and support the implementation of criminal justice reform initiatives undertaken by the FNJO.

Your key responsibilities
• Oversee a range of initiatives and projects on the FNJO work program and consult, liaise with and build productive relationships with a range of stakeholders, including the judiciary, government departments, community-controlled organisations and the community.
• Provide strong leadership to a small team to set key priorities and deliver the FNJO's work program.
• Oversee a range of activities within the team, including policy development, program design and management, oversight, and reporting.
• Build and maintain strong and effective working relationships to support the delivery of initiatives by the FNJO and actively look for opportunities to develop and improve the justice system.
• Oversee and provide advice on submissions, briefs, ministerial and departmental correspondence, answers to parliamentary Questions on Notice and policy advice for the robust decision-making architecture overseen by governance groups consisting of Ministers, Director-General from criminal justice agencies and human services agencies.
• Represent the FNJO at a variety of inter-departmental and inter-agency meetings and ensure effective consultation and collaboration on policy issues that impact the implementation of initiatives of the FNJO.
