About us:

The Rockhampton Intensive Care Service is the only Intensive Care service in the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS). A High Dependency Unit operates at the Gladstone Hospital. The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) offers a high standard of intensive care including complex multi-system life support. Rockhampton ICU offers mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy and invasive haemodynamic monitoring for extended periods of time as required by clinical need. Transfer of adult patients from the unit is due to the need for sub-specialist services not available at this facility.

About the role:

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is accountable at an advanced practice level for leading and coordinating the ICU to achieve best practice standards for clinical practice, patient centred care within a healthcare team and is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient human, material, and financial resource management. The role provides advanced management, professional leadership and operational direction for the Intensive Care Unit ensuring a cost-effective service focused on high quality patient outcomes and nursing excellence. In liaison with the Medial Director, the ICU NUM provides direction and unit oversight that is in accordance with the strategic direction of the Rockhampton Base Hospital and Central Queensland Health Service.

About you:

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Whilst not mandatory, possession of a relevant post graduate qualification (i.e., Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Master's Degree) or evidence of enrolment in such a program is highly desirable.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $164,212 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
